"Without Nora, I would never have been able to achieve my goal for School Dinners. I only dreamed about the kind of radical transformation that she pushed forward and her kitchen and meals still stand as a wonderful example of what can be achieved." - Jamie Oliver.

The cook from Killeen near Inistogue in Co. Kilkenny shot to fame as Jamie Oliver's right-hand woman on the TV series 'Jamie's School Dinners' shown in 2005 on Channel 4. Nora helped Jamie as he campaigned to improve the nutritional value of Britain's school dinners.
Nora started as a kitchen assistant 15 years ago and learnt to be a dinner lady on the job. She still works at Kidbrooke School in Greenwich where her official title is now 'Unit Manager', but she calls herself a 'Cook'! Since 2004, she hasn?t served a single chip and now has between 500 and 600 kids eating in the school canteen every day where she now serves fresh, homemade food ranging from lemon roasted chicken to vegetable cannelloni.
Nora has written her first cook book 'Nora's Dinners', aimed at 7-12 year olds, which was published in the UK on 3rd April 2006 by Collins. Described by Delicious magazine as 'The best kids cookery book ever' and with 5* reviews on Amazon, it is well on its way to becoming a best seller.
